How to Capture YouTube Videos

If you’ve used YouTube very long you probably have run into a situation where you wanted to capture youtube videos.  Why?  Because by having the video captured to your computer you can listen to music or make YouTube DVDs and even watch the videos when you’re not connected to the Internet.

but still more reasons might be that you just can’t consitently get a good enough internet connection to watch the YouTube Videos without them stalling and buffering the video.

But there are ways to download the videos so you can do this.

Using desktop programs – One way is to just install low cost applications that will download the video.  This processes works well but many of the programs on the market will only save the video to flv video format.  If this is the case you only need to download a flv player on your computer and can watch them.  The downside of course is that if you need to watch the videos in a powerpoint presentation or make your own DVD you need the videos in a different video file format – usually the mpeg or mp4 format.

Using Online Capturing Services – There are also online capturing services that will download the youtube videos.  Again you have to check with them and see if they can also convert the videos into a suitable format.  Like the software versions most will save the flv files and sell you more software to convert those video files into a format more usable like the mpeg or mp4 file formats listed above.  A good service to try is http://www.captureyoutube.net.  They will capture the videos and convert them into all the popular formats you will need: WMV, AVI, MP3 you name it.

Downloading Videos from YouTube doesn’t have to be difficult if you know where to look for the right service.  You need to make sure that they can also do the video conversion or you will usually have to buy mmore software to do that part for you.  Try finding a video downloading service that does everything in one step.  Then you can listen or watch to your videos no matter where you are.
